‘Desejo Branco’ is a Celebration of Place, Family, and Heritage

In Alicia Portillo Vazquez’s Desejo Branco photo series, she celebrates the women and the place who made her. Shot in southern Spain, she says of the editorial: "This is me, my heritage and where I come from. The generation who taught me to be strong, to fight and represent the womanhood I belong to. This is a recreation of what they mean to me and where we grew up until where I am now as a person and as an artist. The woman in the images is my aunt Maria Margarita in the land where the family grows and works through generations. I wanted to give the place and my family the attention they deserve so much.”
