Moon Power Make-Up Focuses on Anime’s Heroines

‘MOON POWER MAKE-UP’ is a beauty editorial which celebrates the strength and femininity of anime heroines, capturing both their toughness and softness; the title being a double entendre of cosmetics and the phrase Sailor Moon famously shouts during transformation. The aesthetic of the editorial is simultaneously dreamlike and romantic, but also bold and fresh, drawing a contrast between the artificial dystopian visuals of the ‘mecha’ genre and the ethereal quality of the ‘magical girl’ genre.
