These Collages are Making a Statement on Body Autonomy

Hi, my name is Z Benedict. I’m an artist from Los Angeles California that makes mixed media analogue collage from vintage Playboy magazines. Each image is taken directly from a magazine, hand cut, and then collaged onto a vintage or antique item. When people view my artwork, I want the audience to feel empowered and open to question society’s taboo on the nude fem body. I want to continue to challenge people's perceptions of how we view sexuality and the preconceived notions people hold towards erotic artwork. This series of collages on heels symbolizes my belief in the need to decriminalize sex work and fight censorship of the fem body. Utilizing platform heels allows me to take my art into a wearable medium that brings a whole new life to my collages.
